Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, beat butter until smooth and fluffy. Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla; mix until creamy.
- Whisk flour, cornstarch, and salt together. Add to the bowl and mix just until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop tablespoon portions and roll into smooth balls. Place 2 inches apart on trays.
- Bake 12–14 minutes, until set but still pale (tops should not brown).
- Cool 3 minutes, then roll gently in powdered sugar. Cool fully, then roll again for a thicker coating.
Notes
Keep cookies pale for the best melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Add 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts for variety.
Store airtight at room temperature up to 4–5 days or freeze up to 2 months.
