  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup strawberry puree fresh or frozen
  • Frosting of choice buttercream, cream cheese, or whipped cream
  • Fresh strawberries for topping and decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Add flour mixture and milk alternately, mixing until smooth.
  6. Fold in the strawberry puree.
  7. Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool cakes completely before frosting.
  9. Decorate with fresh strawberries and your favorite design style.
