In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla extract.
Add flour mixture and milk alternately, mixing until smooth.
Fold in the strawberry puree.
Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
