This Strawberry Banana Pudding is a creamy, fruity twist on the classic Southern favorite. Made with layers of vanilla wafers, ripe bananas, fresh strawberries, and a luscious pudding cream, it’s a refreshing dessert perfect for holidays, birthdays, or weeknight treats.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 3 large ripe bananas sliced
  • 1 12 oz box vanilla wafers (or shortbread cookies)
  • 1 5 oz box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 8 oz tub whipped topping (or homemade whipped cream)
  • Optional garnish: extra strawberries banana slices, crushed wafers, or strawberry syrup

Method
 

  1. In a large dish, place a single layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom.
  2. Add a layer of sliced bananas and strawberries over the cookies.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until thickened.
  4. Blend in the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  5. Fold in the whipped topping to create a light, creamy filling.
  6. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the fruit and cookies.
  7. Repeat layers with more wafers, fruit, and the remaining pudding mixture.
  8. Top with sliced fruit and crushed cookies for decoration.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours (overnight for best flavor).

Notes

  • For a richer taste, use banana pudding with cream cheese instead of plain vanilla pudding.
  • Want a cheesecake twist? Swap vanilla wafers for graham crackers to create a strawberry cheesecake pudding.
  • If you love old-fashioned flavors, use a cooked banana pudding custard instead of instant pudding.
