- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat sugar and oil until creamy. Add eggs and mix well.
- Stir in buttermilk, vanilla, vinegar, and red food coloring.
- Add dry ingredients gradually until batter is smooth.
- Divide into pans and bake 25–30 minutes.
- Cool and frost with cream cheese frosting.
