Peanut Butter Fudge

This easy Peanut Butter Fudge is creamy, rich, and packed with classic peanut butter flavor. Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk if needed
  • ½ cup melted chocolate optional

Method
 

  1. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. Add the peanut butter and butter to a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Stir continuously until the butter and peanut butter are completely melted and smooth.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  6. Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring until the mixture is thick and completely combined.
  7. Add a little milk if the mixture is too thick to spread.
  8. For chocolate peanut butter fudge, swirl or layer melted chocolate over the peanut butter mixture.
  9. Transfer the fudge mixture to the prepared pan and press it into an even layer.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely firm.
  11. Lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper.
  12. Cut into 24 small squares and serve.

Notes

 
Use creamy peanut butter for the smoothest fudge.
Keep the heat low when melting the peanut butter and butter.
Do not add too much milk, as this can make the fudge too soft.
For peanut butter fudge with fluff, stir marshmallow fluff into the warm peanut butter mixture before adding the powdered sugar.
For peanut butter fudge with condensed milk, replace part of the powdered sugar mixture with sweetened condensed milk and adjust the consistency as needed.
For a simple 2 ingredient fudge condensed milk variation, combine sweetened condensed milk with chocolate chips, then add peanut butter for extra flavor.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1–2 weeks.
Freeze for longer storage and thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
