Ingredients

  • 2 cans 15 ounces each sliced peaches in juice, undrained
  • 1 box 15.25 ounces yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg optional
  • ½ cup chopped pecans optional

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour both cans of peaches, including the juice, evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches. Do not stir.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, then add chopped pecans if using.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges.
  7. Let the dump cake cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Peaches packed in juice provide the best balance of sweetness, but peaches in light syrup can also be used.
  • Fresh peaches (about 6–7 peeled and sliced peaches) can replace canned peaches during peach season.
  • For extra crunch, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the top before baking.
  • Avoid stirring the layers—this creates the signature cobbler-like texture.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat before serving.
