Jalapeño Popper Twists

These Jalapeño Popper Twists are a fun, flaky twist on classic jalapeño poppers, combining creamy cheese filling, spicy jalapeños, and buttery pastry baked until golden and crispy. Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 –3 fresh jalapeños finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 egg beaten (egg wash)
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds everything bagel seasoning, crushed red pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat Oven:
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Prepare the Filling:
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined.
  5. Roll the Pastry:
  6. Lightly flour your surface and roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle. Cut it lengthwise into two equal strips.
  7. Spread the Filling:
  8. Spread the jalapeño cream cheese mixture evenly over one strip of puff pastry.
  9. Top & Seal:
  10. Place the second pastry strip on top. Gently press the edges together.
  11. Cut & Twist:
  12. Cut into 1-inch wide strips. Twist each strip 2–3 times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  13. Egg Wash:
  14. Brush each twist with beaten egg. Sprinkle with optional toppings if desired.
  15. Bake:
  16. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  17. Cool & Serve:
  18. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for best flavor.

Notes

For extra flavor, add  chicken for a jalapeño popper chicken twist.
Adjust spice level by keeping or removing jalapeño seeds.
Serve with ranch, sour cream, or a creamy jalapeño popper dip.
These twists reheat well in the oven or air fryer for a crispy texture.
