Greek Honey Cake

A moist, tender Greek Honey Cake made with real honey, warm cinnamon, and yogurt for the perfect texture — simple, elegant, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • cup honey plus extra for glazing
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon zest optional
  • ¼ cup chopped pistachios or walnuts optional topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line and grease an 8–9 inch cake pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs and sugar; add yogurt, melted butter, honey, vanilla, and zest.
  4. Fold dry mixture into wet just until combined.
  5. Pour batter into pan and bake 28–34 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While warm, drizzle or brush extra honey over the cake.
  7. Cool, top with nuts if desired, slice, and serve.

Notes

For extra moisture, poke small holes in the cake before glazing with honey.
Store covered at room temperature up to 2 days or refrigerate up to 5 days.
Warm slices briefly before serving for the best flavor.
