Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
Soak the fruit: Place dried fruit in a bowl and cover with orange juice or milk. Let it soak for 20–30 minutes.
Mix the batter: In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually fold into the wet mixture.
Add fruits and nuts: Gently stir soaked fruits (drained) and nuts into the batter.
Bake the cake: Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
