Total Time 45 minutes
Servings: 4 baked potatoes

Ingredients

  • For the Potatoes:
  • 4 medium russet potatoes similar size for even cooking
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt or kosher salt
  • Optional: black pepper garlic powder, or paprika
  • For Serving Optional Toppings:
  • Butter or olive oil
  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped chives or green onions
  • Steamed broccoli salsa, or chili

Method

  1. Prep the potatoes:
  2. Scrub the potatoes thoroughly under running water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. Season:
  4. Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle generously with salt. Add any seasonings you prefer, like pepper or garlic powder.
  5. Air fry:
  6. Place the potatoes in your air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each one. Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 35–45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Check doneness:
  8. Pierce a potato with a fork; it should glide in easily when done. If still firm, air fry for 5 more minutes.
  9. Serve:
  10. Cut the potatoes open lengthwise and fluff the inside with a fork. Add your favorite toppings — from butter and cheese to yogurt and herbs.

Notes

  • Choose russet potatoes for the fluffiest insides and crispiest skins.
  • For a healthier version, use Greek yogurt or low-fat cheese instead of sour cream.
  • Don’t overcrowd your air fryer — airflow is key to crispy results.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes to refresh the texture.
