Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
- Beat butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt. Add to the bowl and mix just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips. Chill dough 30 minutes.
- Scoop large dough balls onto baking sheet, spacing well.
- Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers still soft.
- Cool on the pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
Notes
Chill longer (up to 24 hours) for deeper flavor.
Press extra chocolate on top before baking for a bakery look.
Freeze dough balls for up to 3 months — bake straight from frozen.
