Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon van5illa extract

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans with cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the hot water to the mixture and stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
