Sure! Here’s a simple recipe for homemade hamburger buns:

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and egg.
  3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Stir until a dough starts to form.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Transfer it back to the floured surface and divide it into 8 equal portions.
  7. Shape each portion into a round ball and flatten it slightly to form a bun shape. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them.
  8. Cover the buns with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes, until they puff up.
  9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. If desired, brush the tops of the buns with some beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  11. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  12. Remove the buns from the oven and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before using them for hamburgers.

That’s it! You now have homemade hamburger buns ready to be enjoyed with your favorite burger fillings.
